Timing
This review is most helpful once the application materials are largely drafted and approaching completion.
Materials should be submitted at least 72 hours before the scheduled consultation so there is time for careful review.
Availability
Because this review involves reading the full application carefully and providing detailed feedback, availability is intentionally limited each application season.
What this review does not include
To keep the engagement focused and manageable, it may be helpful to clarify what this review does not include:
• line-by-line editing of essays
• rewriting essays or activity descriptions
• multiple rounds of revisions
• ongoing application coaching
The purpose of this engagement is to provide experienced narrative perspective before submission, allowing students to make final adjustments with greater clarity.
Full Application Narrative Review
Some families complete much of the college application process on their own but want an experienced perspective before submitting.
This review focuses on the overall story the application communicates — how the main essay, supplemental essays, and activities work together to present an authentic picture of the student.
The goal is not to edit every sentence, but to assess whether the application as a whole reflects the student’s strengths, values, and direction in a coherent and compelling way.
An outside perspective can often identify areas where the narrative can become clearer or more aligned before final submission.
✔ Careful review of the student’s main college essay
✔ Review of the activities section
✔ Written feedback on the overall narrative and positioning of the application
✔ Two 45-minute Zoom conversations to discuss the application and explore possible improvements. These conversations focus on how the application reads as a whole and where clarity or alignment can be strengthened.
